Opeyemi Olabisi is a physician-scientist and assistant professor of medicine at Duke School of Medicine. He practices adult nephrology and conducts NIH-funded research that leverages patient-derived stem cell models to elucidate mechanisms underlying APOL1 nephropathy. He is a recipient of several awards, including the NIH DirectorÄ¢¹½´«Ã½™s New Innovator Award, Duke Whitehead Scholars award, and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine AlumniÄ¢¹½´«Ã½™s Rising StarÄ¢¹½´«Ã½“Scientific Investigator Award. Dr. Olabisi received his bachelorÄ¢¹½´«Ã½™s degree in biology from The City College of New York and his MD-PhD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed both his residency training in internal medicine and his nephrology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), and did a postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard Medical School.
